back from yakima!!

Megan got 5th in STATE 1A TENNIS this weekend!!! (with her partner Sarika!) We just got back from the two day trip over to eastern washington and are beat! It was a long two days, the girls played 4 matches, 2 each day, and the temp reached 95-99 degrees. Shade was definitely something sacred with all of the courts outside and little trees to block us from the intense sun. But we made it out alive, with a little more color on our faces, and a medal to boot! I am so proud of Megan for making it this far and being so driven with her passions in life. She plays year round and rarely gets discouraged by anyone but herself. It was so neat to be on the "other side of things" this time around, and kinda weird too! I made that same trip three years in high school and it definitely brought back old memories. So, CONGRATS SIS!!! It was a wonderful start to a beautiful summer!

are we there yet? YES, HOME!

I AM HOME! I didn't think this morning would ever come, but it has and I am so happy to finally be back in the gorgeous northwest. Wow! Hilary and I pulled in yesterday a little after 4pm, the fam was enjoying a day on the lake and the sunshine! After the car was unpacked and I was semi-settled the first thing on my agenda was a shower. 19+ hours in a car can make a girl feel slightly less than "welcome home worthy." Ha ha. So here I am, sipping coffee, fulfilling my craving to blog (finally!), watching the TODAY show, just had breakfast MADE for me (very strange...) and looking forward to going to a movie later with the fam! :)
Dad is home too since its memorial day which is nice. Megan and Mom thought of a very delicious dinner, including my faviorite summer salad, chicken and beef cabobs, corn on the cob, and white potato mash. Yum! Home cooked food has never tasted better.
Today we are laying low. Mom is doing some of my dirty laundry I brought home in a garbage bag... the wonders of college packing. On Thursday we leave for Yakima to watch megan play tennis at STATE! So exciting =) I am SO proud of her. Anyways, pictures will come when my laptop is finally fixed, but I am able to go back to normal posting (instead of this once every few weeks thing!) :(
Yay for the start of summer!!

almost home!

Well countdown has officially begun: home in less than 2 weeks! (11 days!!!) I am so excited but its hard to focus on all that when Hilary and I have the huge task of packing up our room (aka our lives from the past 9 months) and fitting it all in my jetta, ready to hit I-5!
Were into our third week of may term, having our last party tonight ("Not Another Themed Party"-- I'm going as 80's workout). Tomorrow night I'm going to a date night with Will for his frat. Hilary is going with this guy Mike and we're really excited! My grand-big is in town from LA tonight so I will get to see her!!
My class has not gotten easier but I'm still enjoying it. We're reading, The Ideal Husband next and just finished Orlando by Woolf. Our final is creative 7 page paper where we can relate the main character of Orlando to the 21st Century. Interesting.
Its been really hot out, in the 90's consistently and maybe thats the only thing I'm not looking forward to at home... I don't want our rainy June's :( Update as soon as I can!!!

ah life is hard without a working laptop!

Just like my title says, life/blogging and keeping everything in my life organized is hard without my laptop. I finally took it into the apple store (close one being 40 minutes away) and they figured out it is probably a malfunction with my image chip? Not sure what that means but once the grey screen with the apple comes on everything goes black and I get sad :( He said since I'm leaving for back home within 3 weeks I should just wait to send it in up in WA so that I can try and transfer my hard drive (all my documents and pictures aka: MY LIFE) SO thats the game plan. He said he didn't want me to risk sending it in before I transferred all my important stuff on the off chance they would wipe out my destop/hard drive/ memory. Ahhh!!! So annoying, frustering, makes it hard to check e-mail and even harder to steal a friend's computer to blog. I can't upload pics either. But I'm going to attempt with my friends comp... stay tuned.

Highlights in my life -->

*Delta Lingerie Party Tonight (it sounds extremely risque BUT my friends and I are wearing pajama-like dresses. Nothing R rated!! ;) )
*Less than 3 weeks and I will be back in WA (ahhh summer then EUROPE!!!)
*Possible nanny job with a family that works will Hil's mom
*Fixing my ankle... possible tenonitis, which just really means take it easy, ice it, and get a wrap/sleeve for it.
*My lit class= A LOT harder than I thought grrr
.... *enjoying may term while it lasts!!!! =) and loving the 90 degree weather!!!!!

It's May Day! :)

Well I do have a pretty good excuse for not updating in so long. My computer is under the weather :( So it is so inconvenient to check email, facebook, etc. but here I am. My plan is to (hopefully) take it to the Apple store on Sunday.
In other news, I have had quite the start to may term! Hilary and I are taking a class together, Images of Women in Lit and I really like our prof! I had her fall semester and she is really down to earth and easy going. However, we have gotten more homework than otherwise expected (papers due every day) and reading is pretty steep BUT I am really enjoying it. Were focusing on the novel Orlando, by Virginia Woolf-- very quirky but I like it because I know I would never read it on my own so I like having someone take me through it!
The Swine is also high on peoples list of topics lately, CA being the 2nd highest infected state, woho! However, taking into account how many people live in CA I think it more or less makes sense. However, my lovely mother had to call me and freak me out, painting a picture similar to the plague SO I did get a little freaked out. But I'm washing my hands religiously and avoiding areas with lots of people. Including volunteering at the nursery! :( I miss my munchkins!!
UGH. the pig flu? How gross.
We are staying in tonight a) because we have our annual delta luncheon tomorrow and have to leave by 9am tomorrow morning b) because we need a BREAK c) my body must hate me for how little sleep I've been giving it! (However our class is 1-4 so I'm enjoying my mornings :) A LOT
I am going to be home most likely the monday of Memorial Day weekend, which leaves this month to have fun and say some hard goodbyes to people I won't see until I get back from abroad!!
When my laptop is alive again I will definitely put up some pictures! I hope everyone is having a great first day of may!
Happy May Day!!!
