pretty flowers!!

Thank you family for the beautiful roses that came my way this afternoon! I absolutely love them, they look so pretty on our cabinet =) They brighten up the entire room.
Tonight is Beta's Rush night... excited to see what their theme is. Still have Spanish homework to do. Dropped off goodie bags for my team a little earlier, hopefully they like them! They weren't too healthy but hopefully coach won't mind... pringles, red&pink M&M's, gadorade, granola bars etc.
Girls are back, and I'm on Hil's computer.

RUSH Day: #3

It's early morning and I'm on my way to a coffee date at 830 but I wanted to give a little update on current happenings.
Last night was Delta Kappa Psi Rush night and I had so much fun! Their theme was "The Delta 500: Nascar" and everything was sport themed, race cars, balloons, etc. I met some new girls I had never met before and got a good feel for the sorority I'm hoping to pledge to.
This weekend we have a tournament in LA but I'm not going so I made all of the girls goodie bags for their travel. There in assorted colors with ribbons and name tags, I hope they like them!
I remember we always made ribbons and brought treats to our high school matches so maybe ill start influencing the girls here to start it up :)
Tonight my roommates and I are going to dinner to celebrate Nicolette's 19th Birthday! She chose the Macaroni Grill, very excited for a yummy dinner!
Tonight is Beta's Rush night. I don't know a lot about their sorority so it will be interesting to see what they're like.

the college life

"you find yourself at a stand still. you find yourself looking forward and only seeing fog. you complain about papers, guys, and drama. And you do all of this only to realize that these are the times to be remembered. These are the times to be enjoyed. These will be the times you look back on and say, 'those were the best days of my life.'"

Put more simply, I am enjoying my life to the fullest right now. Classes; consuming. Boys; intriguing. Schedule; seemingly unmanagable. Tennis; physically and mentally draining. But I can't help but love it all.

I have been counting, and this is the 11th day in a row that I've woken up sore. All I have to say is, I better be frikkin ripped by the end of this season. :)!
Rush is next week. I am more than excited. Finally being able to join a network of girls who seem to love eachother more than they love themseleves. They are a family, and I want that.
ITA Redlands Tennis Tournement, this weekend. I'm playing, woohooo. Just pray for no rain! Rookie night; saturday. Kinda nervous, kinda excited! There are four of us new-bees, yah!
Two tests on friday, well actually Spanish on friday and I have to move my math test up to thursday because of the matches. Nothing too hard I don't think. I'm actually somewhat understanding math... I know, a miracle. But we'll see how the semester goes...

I either have bad allergies or just a cold I don't want to accept. BLAH!! Ny-quil is my new best friend for the night time dorm life. 2 and i am oouuttt. LOVE IT :)
I think I sneezed 14 times in my religion class today? yeah... and every single person said "bless you."
On the courts today from 1:30-4:45... so tired! my crackers for lunch didn't cut it, ha.

Notes:

Lizzie, feel better! you will get through this :)
Sister Megan, I know your reading this and I don't talk to my friends with you on the phone, I love you! ♥
Family, coming home for spring break in exactly one month!! 22nd...

I hope everyone started off their weeks well!!
♥ always

one week back and very tired!

One week back in the swing of things and I'm exhausted. Tennis has started and taken full force... 3 hour practices, running up hills that look like a roller-coaster ride, weight lifting, and timed miles. All i can say is fun fun fun! Last night a group of us went to see JUNO since I couldn't stay out late thanks to a 8am tennis alarm. Yes, its taking everything out of me but I am so glad I am privileged enough to be able to play the sport I love.
Practices are every week day 230pm to 5-530ish. Saturdays; 9am. Mondays 8-9am individual hitting. Fridays 7am lifting. It sounds like a lot but so far it has been manageable!
Tonight we are going out to a frat house to meet some guys that Hilary met last night :) and have a good old Saturday night with my favorites. Tomorrow is the first night in 8 days that I do not have tennis so I figured going out seemed like an opportunity I shouldn't pass up.

Some of my girls back home are at JA tonight. If your reading this I hope you have a fabulous night and I am SO excited to see all of your beautiful pictures!! I am thinking of all of you.

continued...

Ok, I'm back with much more to say! Just finished lunch with my three lovely's :) with two classes down! I really enjoyed both of my classes this morning. My enviro class is a little earthy and somewhat overwhelming, mainly because I am not too familiar with Environmental Studies or scientific readings. It's definately something different but I am excited to get messy and try something new.
My womens study class was also something entirely new to me, but the professor seems great and really easy going. It is a discussion based class with take home tests and lots of papers. Since i am more writing inclined, this seems like a do-able task.
BAck to my break. A wonderful 3 weeks with nothing to worry about..
Highlights.

- spending christmas with my family!~
- seeing my amazing friends and our besties dinner, you know who you are♥
- sleeping in and running errands with my mom
- our lovely 12 hour road trip (x2)
- skiing in sun valley... especially when it wasn't windy and i wasn't complaining
- being driven around by my LITTLE sis.. who i don't think i can call little anymore ;)
- ummm... anniversary dinner for 3 anyone??
- fake tatoos
- ps. i love you
- AUGUST RUSH... in my top ten for sure.. hahaha
- being home with the trees and the snow and the bad weather and the fog and the icy roads and our perfect christmas..
which by the way was an ENTIRE family to-do. I'll explain,
Dad and Austin picked out the tree and lugged it into the house
Mom decorated the tree with minor help from Meg and Austin
Megan and I took down ALL of the decorations, boxed them up, and organized.
so see? it was quite the family affair
what else?
- yummy dinners in Sun Valley
- Megan sledding down a decent sized hill with a sheer look of terror
- hot chocolate
- reading my book! Keeping Faith. and not feeling guilty about it!
- and bringing in the new year with the people who mean the most to me.. even if some were grumpy, tired, and mom was rightfully disturbed by Dick Clark on the screen.

Hope thats not too long. So happy to be back! But always missing the people far from me.
I love you guys!

spring semester!! 08

Happy new years to everyone! I feel like its been ages since I last posted something. I'm on my way out to start my first classes of the semester and thought it would be good to blog something before the whirl-wind of my school and social life begin to take their toll. I have Environmental Studies: Conservation in Practice at 9:30am and Women, Sex, and Western Religion class at 11:30am today. I am so excited! It's the best feeling in the world to start fresh and have new classes to meet new people.
I just got back from a week long trip to Sun Valley with my family and the Iversons. It was definately an adventure and I loved every second of it. We spent New Year's at a nice place called Ketchum Grill (8:30 reservations) and then went back to watch the count down on Dick Clark's Rocjin' New Years Eve. haha... hes getting old. Our dinner was quite interesting... mom made sure that I should add the ecclectic menu that was served... Salmon and scallops, elk, duck, ahi tuna, chicken, beef, lamb, crab, and almost everyother living creature. The menu, in my opinion, was a little racey for my brother and the boys but they had fun with the bread basket.
I have soo much more to write abour my vacation home but I can't be late for latte;s with Lo!! :)

I hope everyone had a great, relaxing new years!! 2008, yah! ♥
